Rising from the East, it slowly floats higher dimming to a reddish hue.
Slowly it diminishes to a crescent.
It catches the eyes of father and son who become thoughtful and silent.
A celestial commentary on life? the clockwork unconcern of the heavens?
Time has come, visitors must leave and patients settle in for the night.
The moon rides higher.
Shadow persists, growing and darkening.
Light fails.
At home the son meets his son.
Through the window on the stair-landing the wonder is watched together,
a barely perceptible shade floating in the star studded sky.
Silence reigns; a promise? a threat? lofty indifference??
A bright silver streak....
The sick come home....
